Hey YatGirl, Who doesn't like classical music? I know just what it means when Group A won't associate with Group B, yet you get along with both, to the benefit of nobody.
I've lived in many states and the main question I've heard is "Louisiana? Where's your accent?"
My ex-girlfriend went to Tulane Law School on the Hale Boggs full scholarship and then worked for Exxon. I admire what you're doing and hope you realize your dreams.
No question that the government officials sucked at helping New Orleans quickly and all looked clueless as to what was going on or what to do about it. Even now. The mess is all-encompassing, physically, emotionally, and politically. It's a long hard road back, one step at a time.
All I want for Christmas is a new and better New Orleans (eventually) that cares more about the safety and welfare of its people than about keg parties, Mardi Gras, and Bourbon Street. The city has to take some responsibilty for its own unpreparedness. I hope priorities are righted for the sake of who and what was lost, if not for the sake of future generations.
