It is "The Kiss" by Rodin. As I remember (art history was a long time ago), it was originally created to be part of the Gates of Hell, but Rodin did not feel as though it fit the theme. Of note are his curled toes, which indicate the passion of this kiss. As for why it is the coolest thing ever, I have no idea.
